KIDDIE CITY

CURRICULUM OUTLINE

Each activity at KIDDIE CITY is carefully matched to coincide with universal stages in all areas of children development;
*Physical
*Cognitive
*Social/Emotional
*Creative
Therefore, when children move to new levels of ability, there are always experiences they can choose in order to gain new mastery. There are many opportunities for children to practice interacting more effectively with others. We also believe that parents are an important part of children’s learning experiences and are partners in the education and care of children.

PRE-K PROGRAM

Listed below are specific goals and objectives for children between three and five years of age who participate in our program using the CREATIVE CURRICULUM. All the children are not expected to reach every objective listed here. There are large differences in development that we believe is perfectly normal. These goals and objectives are offered as guideposts for our teachers to implement in the Creative Curriculum.
Socio-Emotional Development

  • To experience a sense of self esteem
  • To exhibit a positive attitude toward life
  • To demonstrate cooperative, pro-social behavior

Cognitive Development

  • To acquire learning and problem solving
  • To expand logical thinking skills
  • To acquire concepts and information leading to a fuller understanding of the immediate world
  • To demonstrate skills in make-believe play
  • To expand verbal communication  skills
  • To develop beginning reading skills
  • To acquire beginning writing skills

Physical Development

  • To enhance gross motor skills
  • To enhance and refine fine motor skills
  • To use senses in learning

VOLUNTARY PRE-K

Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten program (VPK) will begin late in August till early May of the following year. The VPK program schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9am till noon. The children will be provided with nutritious lunch with no cost to you. To be eligible for VPK program, the child must turn 4 years old by September 1, and reside in Florida. The parent has to obtain Certificate of Eligibility from Office of Early Learning. If you have any questions or you need help with the application WE will be more than happy to help.
For the families that need full time care we offer wrap around care with free VPK.
We are actively involved in the process to help Florida’s children develop the emergent literacy skills they need to become successful students.

We start to plan VPK in early spring so we can save the spots for the children that already attend our program. Please, make your first priority to get the Certificate of Eligibility and turn it in as soon as possible, so we can reserve the spot for your child.

 2 YEAR OLDS

All the above outlines for Creative Curriculum are carefully used to create an age appropriate activities in 2-year-old classroom.
A large portion of the teacher’s time is used on routines. Therefore that time is conducted as an important part of the curriculum.
An interaction between children and adults is encouraging the development of attachment and the resolution of separation problems.
A Variety of program activities are suggested to foster development of all the senses, motor abilities, and social development.
We do potty training with the help and support from the parents.

Please come to OUR CENTER for a TOUR and pick up an information packet containing all you need to know about our program as well as an application for enrollment.  We have an “Open Door Policy”. The parents are always welcomed
